Adrien Rabiot A Target For Everton?

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot is a summer transfer target for Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti. The French international midfielder who was on Everton’s radar in January and is now apparently back on Marcel Brands and Ancelotti’s wish list again.

The 25-year-old wants to leave the Bianconeri after unsuccessful 12 months in Turin and has worked with Blues boss Ancelotti at Paris St Germain. In fact, it was Ancelotti who promoted Rabiot to the PSG 1st team squad in the 2012-13 season. Rabiot then went onto play 150 times for the French club.

Everton are thought to be keen on signing a powerful midfield player who can get about the pitch and Rabiot fits that bill. Everton have John-Philip Gbamin edging back towards fitness after a serious thigh injury and have seen Andre Gomes recover quickly from a serious ankle injury.

The blues midfield has been an issue all season and it is thought that they would be willing to allow Morgan Schneiderlin, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fabian Delph all leave the club should the right offer come in when the transfer market re-opens after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rabiot has made 11 starts and six substitute appearances in Serie A, and has made three starts and one substitute appearance in the Champions League for Juventus so far this season.

Rabiot, who has admitted to supporting Liverpool as a young boy, has publicly stated that he would love to play in the Premier League but there wasn’t one particular club he wanted to play for in England.

Rabiot is certainly a talented footballer and would be a welcome addition at Goodison Park and would certainly improve the midfield at Everton. His relationship with Ancelotti could well give Everton an advantage if he does become available this summer.
