Nathan Patterson Arrives For Everton Medical

Nathan Patterson is to undergo his Everton medical today after arriving at USM Finch Farm, the club’s training ground. The 20-year-old right-back is moving closer to completing his transfer from Glasgow Rangers after the two clubs finally agreed terms on a deal to take the Scottish International to Goodison Park.

Patterson represents the second piece of business that the Toffees have done already this January following the capture of Ukrainian International, Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dinamo Kiev on Saturday.

Rafa Benitez is desperately in need of new additions following one of the worst runs in the clubs history, winning only one Premier League game since September 25th 2021 and languishing in 15th place in the table. Pressure is mounting on the Spaniard and he will be hoping that his two new fullbacks will help tighten up a very leaky defence that hasn’t kept a clean sheet since November 7th.

The Patterson deal is one that Everton tried to make happen in the summer but the two teams could not agree a deal and so the young defender remained at Ibrox. Patterson has found it hard to get into the Rangers side this season as club captain James Tavernier is the 1st choice Right Back and has been in excellent form again this season. However, Patterson is a full Scotland International and scored his first goal for his country in November against Moldova and has been capped 6 times.
