Blues Blow As Pickford Ruled Out For Up To A Month

Everton and England Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been ruled out of action for up to a month after sustaining an injury in Saturday’s goalless Merseyside Derby against Liverpool.

The Blues keeper has been in fine form and kept his first clean sheet of the Premier League season pulling off a string of fine saves to help the Toffees gain a well deserved point against their bitter rivals.

Pickford has been the Everton Captain this season in the absence of club captain Seamus Coleman who has not started a Premier League game for the Blues so far due to injury and the form of Nathan Patterson.

The England goalkeeper will be a big miss for Frank Lampard due to his form this season and will be replaced in goal by number 2 Asmir Begovic for this Sunday’s trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates. Ironically, Begovic’s last Premier League appearance for the Blues was against the Gunners on the final day of last season as the Blues lost 1-5.

The onus now will be on getting Jordan Pickford back to full fitness as soon as possible and the club are hoping that their number 1 choice will only miss two games due to an International break as well.
