Goodison Sleepout Returns

The Goodison Sleepout returns this November and looks set to be bigger and better than ever before!

Join Everton Under-23 Manager David Unsworth and his entire Under-23 squad in grabbing your sleeping bag and bedding down at Goodison Park for one of Everton in the Community’s toughest fundraising challenges.

Now in its third year, the Goodison Sleepout gives participants the chance to spend the night in one of the world’s most famous stadiums, whilst raising money for Everton in the Community.

Last year over 200 fans braved the elements of a cold November night to experience the challenges that homeless people face daily on the streets of Liverpool, raising an incredible total of £40,000. All monies raised from this year’s Goodison Sleepout will go towards the running costs and sustainability of the charity’s recently opened ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ property, supporting young people at risk of homelessness.

Everton Under-23 Manager David Unsworth and his team of players and backroom staff have again committed to take part in the Sleepout for the third successive season and commenting on their involvement, Unsworth said:

“The Goodison Sleepout is something that myself and my squad look forward to every year – it’s always a tough and difficult night but always enjoyable despite the freezing temperatures.

“Although we have now opened the doors to our fantastic new ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ property, our work in helping to tackle homelessness is far from over and all funds raised from the night will go toward the long-term sustainability of the project and hopefully see us continue to support many more young people for many years to come.

“The Sleepout is open to anyone and I really hope to see more people take part than ever before and join us at Goodison on Friday 16 November for a fantastic and memorable night. The more people we can get to sign up, the bigger the difference we can make in our city in tackling homelessness.”

Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £150, including a £10 registration fee. You can sign up today by contacting Everton in the Community’s Fundraising team on 0151 530 5260, emailing fundraising@evertonfc.com or sign up online here: https://evertonfc.tfaforms.net/205
