On this episode of Toffee TV, Ped gives his instant thoughts on Everton’s 2-0 win over Middlesbrough, which see’s the blues in to the semi final of the Capital One Cup thanks to goals by Gerard Deulofeu and Romelu Lukaku.
The Blues started with a strong side and made just three changes from the side that drew with Bournemouth, with Joel Robles, Leon Osman and Tom Cleverley coming into the team for Tim Howard, James McCarthy and Arouna Kone.
At a sold out Riverside Stadium and in front of 5000 Evertonians, the Blues took just twenty minutes to take the lead, when Deulofeu capped of a fine run by finishing into corner from 20 yards and Everton doubled the lead just eight minutes later when Deulofeu crossed for Lukaku to head in after a 28 pass move by the visitors.
The home side desperated tried to get back into the game but could only force a series of half chances in the second half, leaving Everton to move on to the semi finals for the first time since 2008.
